London Blog Slam 2010

Toast

In a shocking turn of events Biscuit and I have won a prize  for our foolhardy adventures on the road to marriage.

It was an accident really. FleetstreetFox invited us to go to a blog slam organised by Circus bookazine with her and Scalene.

We weren’t expecting much, perhaps an upstairs room in a pub with a few slightly over-intense bloggers. We’d read our bit, die a bit on stage and then leave.

Instead we were greeted by a bath full of beer and a lovely white space full of incredibly sexy people. I mean really sexy people, and loads of them. I fancied pretty much everyone there. I was amazed they even let us in.

The rest of the bloggers were amazing, Scalene appears to be trapped in a Richard Curtis film, FleetStreetFox was moving and funny at the same time and all the other bloggers had all been doing it better, and for longer than we had.

Some of them were talking about proper grown-up things too, but for reasons we still don’t really understand, we won.

I suspect the judges just got drunk on the free beer (we did) and took pity on us. Either way we won a camera and some magazines which has made Biscuit’s coffee table look really, really hip.

Also this is our 100th post. We were supposed to do a big round-up but we got distracted by misadventures. More posts will follow today.

EDIT – We had a lovely write up in Amelia’s Magazine too.

Thanks Shawn you are super star. I’ll make sure Biscuit puts you to the top of his list-of-commenters-he-will-kiss.

Bloody good job I couldn’t come then. I’d have seriously diluted the sexiness quotient :-(

Personally I didn’t notice the women, but then I was most concerned the men were all gay.

Molly Bennett – You should have been there, FACT.

Fleetstreetfox – There were men there?
